Officers got an unexpected sight on Monday: two goats, just out for a casual stroll in Northern Virginia.
The goats were wandering along Dale Boulevard when officers spotted them and brought them back to the station, Prince William County Police said in a Facebook post.
After a brief stay with the police department, the goats — whom police called Billy 1 and 2 — were transferred to the Prince William County Animal Shelter, according to a Facebook post.
Photos the department posted on Facebook showed officers holding the goats and smiling. Another image showed the goats standing in the back of a police cruiser.
"... [I]t definitely lifted our spirits," police said.
