Four people have been pulled from the rain-swollen James River in downtown Richmond.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports no one was injured when the four were removed near Haxall Point on Wednesday night.
Richmond fire Lt. Robbie Hagaman says a distress call came in about 10:10 p.m. in an area between the Manchester and Mayo bridges.
Three stranded people were removed by boat, along with a fourth person who had tried to help them.
