Dulles International Airport has opened its International Arrivals Building just in time for peak international travel season.
Arriving international travelers will be greeted with what Dulles is calling a world-class facility. The arrivals area has been renovated to expand to nearly 400,000 square feet, and can serve up to 2,400 travelers per hour. The building could only handle up to 1,400 before the expansion.
They’ve also added six new baggage carousels and streamlined passenger flow from the arrivals hall, through to the passenger greeting area.
The expansion was launched to accommodate the increase in international traveler traffic at Dulles, which has grown steadily since 2003.
The spacious facility means more jobs as well, increasing to a total of 50 positions in customs inspections.
