College Student Pleads Guilty to Shooting at Professor

A former college student has pleaded guilty in a case that would no doubt send shivers up any teacherโ€™s spine.

Police said 21-year-old Jason Hamilton, of Manassas, Va., opened fire on his math professor because he was upset with his grade in a classroom at Northern Virginia Community College in Woodbridge in December 2009.

At Mondayโ€™s plea hearing, police said Hamilton fired two rifle shots at his professor. He faces two to 20 years behind bars.

Hamilton pleaded guilty to attempted murder.
