A seafood restaurant in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, D.C., was severely damaged by a stubborn fire early Saturday morning.
Fire crews responded to an alarm in the 2400 block of 18th Street Northwest at 12:17 a.m. and found the #1 Juicy Cajun Seafood restaurant had a fire in the attic of the building. Firefighters used hooks to open the roof and pull the ceiling down inside to get to the fire.
After about an hour, firefighters had to be evacuated from the building due to the compromised structure. They were able to knock down the fire after about 90 minutes from the first call.
No injuries were reported. Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
