A woman has died after she was struck by a pickup truck in Gaithersburg, Maryland, police say.
Fire and rescue workers responded to the crash at the intersection of Emory Grove Road and Woodfield Road about 6:27 p.m. Thursday, Montgomery County police said.
The woman was walking westbound on Emory Grove Road and crossing the northbound lanes of Woodfield Road when a 2011 GMC Sierra pickup truck struck her. The driver stayed at the scene, police said.
The woman was taken to a hospital where she later died.
The driver was not injured.
Emory Grove Road was closed between Woodfield Road and Hazelcrest Drive.
