Two Hurt When Car Crashes Into Maryland Mosque

Two people were injured when a car crashed into a mosque in Silver Spring, Maryland, Sunday, fire officials say.

The crash happened at the Beitur Rehman Mosque on Good Hope Road about 7:15 p.m., Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesperson Pete Piringer said on Twitter.

Photos show the car crashed down into a large enclosure just outside the building.

Two people were trapped for a short time in the car and taken to a hospital. They are expected to survive their injuries, Piringer said.
