Police in Fairfax County, Virginia, are trying to find a dog that bit a boy in the hopes that the child doesn't have to get rabies shots.

A dog bit an 11-year-old boy Saturday afternoon near the intersection of Strawberry Lane and Yates Way in Fairfax, police said.

Police said the dog's owner is an Asian woman in her 30s with medium-length hair.

She was sitting on a bench facing Gallows Road when the leashed dog bit the boy, police said.

Police believe the dog is about 1 year old, medium in size and has black and white short hair.

Police want to speak with the owner about the dog's health.

Anyone who has information about the owner or dog can call (703) 691-2131.
