Police: Man Charged Laurel Park Race Track Coworker With Pitchfork

Anne Arundel County police charged a 60-year-old man with assaulting a coworker at Laurel Park Race Track, saying he hit the coworker and charged him with a pitchfork.

Officers were called to the track on Monday morning, the Capital reported.

A 27-year-old man told officers that fellow groomer Jose Maria Colindres Salazar punched him during an argument and charged him with a pitchfork, police said. The man told police he fended off Salazar by hitting him with some kind of object and fled. The man was taken to an area hospital with a laceration to the ear.

Officers took Salazar into custody and charged him with first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
