Metro closures may affect your travel plans this Columbus Day. Three Metrorail stations will be closed for the entire three-day weekend, from October 8 through October 10.
Shaw, U Street and Columbia Heights will be closed in order to advance NTSB-recommended safety improvements. Crews will be implementing major track work on sections of the Green, Yellow and Orange lines.
The three stations will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday until system opening on Tuesday.
Buses will replace trains between East Falls Church and West Falls Church on the Orange line as work continues on the Dulles rail extension project.
