Man Stabbed, Arrested For Armed Robbery

Would-be victim stabbed assailant with pocket knife.

A D.C. man accused of armed robbery was arrested after a potential victim stabbed him in the chest Friday evening.

Investigators say that 25-year-old Michael Daniels was being treated at MedStar while an arrest warrant was being applied for by police in Takoma Park.

Daniels and another man allegedly tried to mug two people while they were walking home from an event on Carroll Street in Washington, D.C. Investigators say that Daniels demanded money from the would-be victims while the other man stood look out. The victims refused Daniels' demands before one of them pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed Daniels once in the chest.

The victims reported the incident to police, and Daniels was discovered being treated for his wounds at the Takoma Park Metro station.

Daniels was taken to MedStar in critical condition and was rush into surgery. The other man has not been identified, but has been described as a black man wearing a black jacket and dark jeans. He was last seen boarding a Metro train.
