An early-morning fire ripped through a Silver Spring restaurant early Tuesday morning, causing more than $275,000 worth of damage.
Heavy smoke could be seen for blocks while it poured from the Authentic Peruvian Charcoal Chicken Restaurant & Carry Out, located at 10118 block of Colesville Road.
The two-alarm fire was contained by 6 a.m., but Montgomery County firefighters continued to check the building to make sure that there are no more hot spots.
No one was injured.

An initial report from Montgomery County Fire said the fire was at the Red Maple Restaurant next door.
Some lanes on Colesville Road at University Boulevard were shut down for several hours, but had reopened by about 8:30 a.m. Officials warned commuters that traffic would likely remain slow through the end of the morning rush hour.
