Around 2,000 Pepco customers were left without power Sunday afternoon after a branch fell on some wires in Northeast.
Pepco says that the branch fell on the wires at the intersection of 42nd Street and Hayes Street Northeast at around 2:30 p.m. Initially, Pepco said that 2,000 customers were affected by the outage. However, power was quickly restored to most customers.
Fewer than 80 customers were estimated to be without power as of 4:00 p.m. Sunday.
