Ex-Va. Teacher Convicted of Being Drunk at School

A former Virginia Beach teacher has been convicted of being drunk on school grounds.

Media outlets report that a General District Court judge found 28-year-old Jessica S. Snyder guilty of misdemeanor public intoxication on Wednesday.

Judge Pamela Hutchens ordered Snyder to pay a $200 fine.

According to WAVY, school officials said Snyder had arrived at the school at 8:30 a.m. and fallen in the hallway. She did not make contact with her students and did not require medical attention.

School officials say Snyder was a French teacher at Plaza Middle School when she was charged Oct. 25. Police were called to the school after she fell in a hallway. She resigned the next day.
