WASHINGTON -- Former D.C. mayor Anthony Williams is starting a new job, directing a new practice focused on state and municipal finance and management.
Williams started Thursday at law firm Arent Fox, where he will lead about 10 lawyers helping mid-size cities take advantage of federal stimulus dollars and handle their budgets during a recession.
Williams was the city's chief financial officer before being elected to the first of two terms as mayor in 1998.
Williams said he has stepped down as chief executive of Primum Public Realty Trust. He says the Arlington County real estate investment fund he started when he left the mayor's office will be shut down.
