52-Year-Old Man Charged With Abducting 12-Year-Old in Annapolis

Police have arrested a 52-year-old Maryland man for allegedly luring a 12-year-old girl into his car and trying to assault her in an Annapolis neighborhood.

The 12-year-old said she was walking near Skippers Lane and South Cherry Grove Avenue when a man pulled her into his car, drove to a nearby street and tried to assault her.

The girl was able to jump out of the car and ran away. Later, police found the car, unoccupied, and traced its owner.

Police arrested that man, Cordell Salisbury, 52, of Churchton, and charged him with kidnapping, false imprisonment, second-degree assault, fourth-degree sex offense, attempted third-degree sex offense, sexual solicitation of a minor, indecent exposure and kidnapping a child under 16.

Police said the girl did not know Salisbury.
