A 16-year-old boy was shot and wounded Friday afternoon in Southeast D.C.
The victim was shot about 3:15 p.m. in the 300 block of Anacostia Road SE. He is reported to be conscious and breathing.
More than a dozen bullets had pierced a gray car D.C. police towed away from the scene and the car's windows were shattered.
There is no word on a motive or suspect.
A short time after the shooting, a man was shot outside a charter high school about a mile away on Minnesota Avenue NE.
It is unclear at this time if the two shootings are connected.
