Washington Capitals and Game 7s: An Anthology

Here we are again. Game 7.

The Washington Capitals are quite familiar with this situation, having played in such a game in five of their last seven playoff series, including this Wednesday's series-deciding game against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden.

Recall with me now the other nine Game 7's in franchise history. Think of this as one of those anthologies that you can order on television, except there aren't too many greatest hits to cherish...

April 28, 2010: Game 7 v. Montreal

May 15, 2009: Game 7 v. Pittsburgh

April 28, 2009: Game 7 v. New York Rangers

April 22, 2008: Game 7 v. Philadelphia

May 18, 1995: Game 7 v. Pittsburgh

May 1, 1992: Game 7 v. Pittsburgh - No video (which is probably a good thing).

April 30, 1988: Game 7 v. New Jersey - Again, no video.

April 16, 1988: Game 7 v. Philadelphia

April 18, 1987: Game 7 v. New York Islanders ("The Easter Epic")

Now that you've perused history, how will April 25, 2012, be remembered? Will it be a historic victory for the Caps? Or another meltdown of historic proporions?

Either way, we will witness history.
