If you’ve already experienced Atomic Billiards, Bedrock Billiards or any other branch from the Bedrock Management group, you will definitely love one of its more recent ventures: Rocket Bar. Located across the street from the Verizon Center, Rocket Bar is a great addition to the Chinatown nightlife in D.C.
Whether you’re looking for a place to hang out before or after any Verizon events, the Rocket Bar has lots of activities to your disposition. Although shooting pool is their main focus, there are plenty of other activities including shuffleboard, Skee-Ball, darts and board games – for which there are a $1 fee per session. Pool rates vary depending on the days with prices ranging from $6/hr – per person – Sunday through Wednesday to $10/hr Thursday to Saturday. If you fancy video games, you’ll be happy to know that there is a Ms. Pac Man available.
Another hit at the Rocket Bar is their jukebox. Classic rock and soul, new wave, country and indie rock are among the wide variety of music that have been personally selected by the Rocket’s staff members. No matter what your taste, you’ll most probably find something that you might want to listen to while hanging out.
With two multiple bars, expect to find quite a selection of drinks -- especially with their beer list. With its friendly staff, frequent visitors recommend the Rocket Bar to be a fun spot for happy hour also.
If you’re looking for a fun-filled night, make the Rocket Bar your stop but if you’re not into all the noise that comes with a crowd, stop by during the weekdays when it’s a little less packed.
