VIRIGNIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — A Virginia Beach man was injured after the jet ski he was riding exploded.
Local news outlets report that the incident happened Sunday afternoon near Indian Cove Campground.
Virginia Beach Fire Department District Chief Mike Barakey said that dispatchers received a call around 12:20 p.m. about a boat explosion and a man in the water with injuries near the shore.
Officials said the unidentified man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Barakey said that fire officials were working with police to investigate the cause of the explosion.
