Man on ATV Hit by Crop Duster in Maryland

BERLIN, Md. (AP) — A man driving an all-terrain vehicle in Maryland suffered minor injuries after authorities say he was struck by a crop duster.

Maryland state police say in a statement that on Sunday morning 23-year-old Drew Eckman was taken by the pilot of the crop duster to Atlantic General Hospital. The pilot, 25-year-old Christopher Bunting, was not injured.

Eckman told police he had just completed an inspection of one of the crop dusting planes at Bunting’s Airfield in Berlin and was driving an ATV on the runway. He said he noticed the plane and had attempted to get out of the way, but was struck and thrown from the ATV.

Police say there is nothing suspicious about the incident and no charges are pending. The investigation is ongoing.
