Miley Cyrus on Rebecca Black: “It Should Be Harder to Be an Artist”

Looks like Miley has a bit of envy towards YouTube sensation Rebecca Black.

“It should be harder to be an artist,” Cyrus told the New York Daily News. “You shouldn’t just be able to put a song on YouTube and go on tour.”

Black’s simple song about her favorite day of the week (“Friday”) has over 16 million YouTube hits and though it may not be technically or lyrically advanced, the numbers don’t lie.

Forbes estimated the 13-year-old could earn hundreds of thousands of dollars from her youthful video.

And Black is an old pro when it comes to “haters.” In an interview with the Daily Beast, she said a stiff upper lip was the way to deal. “I decided not to give the haters the satisfaction that they got me so bad I gave up,” she said.
