Independent Lacey Putney steps down after 52 years of service

Lawmakers in Virginia today said goodbye to a man who set the record for House service.

Independent Lacey Putney from Bedford is stepping down after 52 years of serving in the General Assembly.

Another lawmaker, Democrat Jim Scott, also cast his final votes as a delegate. Scott represented Falls Church and parts of Fairfax County.

He recently announced his retirement after 22 years in Richmond.
