Cowboys Defeat Redskins, Set Team Records

In a game that was testy and angry at times, the Washington Redskins finished their season with a home loss against their rival, the Dallas Cowboys, 44-17.

It was a record-setting day for the Cowboys with DeMarco Murray and Dez Bryant setting team records in a game that had little meaning on Dallas’ position in the playoffs. However, starters stayed in for most of the game in an effort to keep their edge going into the postseason.

Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III threw for over 300 yards and ran for a touchdown, but also tossed two interceptions and had a fumble returned for a Cowboys touchdown.

Washington finishes the season with a 4-12 record and faces many questions in the offseason about the direction and leadership of the team.

Murray rushed for 100 yards on 20 carries, passing Emmitt Smith for the team single-season mark. Murray's 1,845 yards bettered Smith's 1,773 from 1995.

Bryant caught scoring passes of 65 and 23 yards togive him 16 touchdown receptions on the season, breaking Terrell Owens' team record of 15 set in 2007.
