Suspect in Fatal Prince George's Hit and Run Turns Himself In

A suspect turned himself in to police Saturday after a fatal hit-and-run crash in Oxon Hill, Maryland, early that morning.

Police have not named the suspect, but said charges against him are pending.

A 23-year-old from southeast D.C. was killed in the crash. People who knew the victim identified her as Kishon Wiggins.

They've set up a GoFundMe fundraiser to help her family.

Police say Wiggins was in a car that was rear-ended by another car at about 3 a.m. at the intersection of St. Barnabas Road and Wheeler Road.

Wiggins and a friend in the car got out of their vehicle to exchange information with the other driver.

As that was happening, Wiggins was struck by a passing pickup truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the pickup truck fled the scene. The vehicles involved in the original accident remained at the scene.

The suspect turned himself in to police just before noon, police said.
