Woman Carjacked, Abducted at Target
Gunman takes woman on wild ride through 2 states
What began as a trip to a Target store turned into a terrifying experience for a woman, as she was carjacked, abducted and then taken on a wild ride through two states.
While in the parking lot of the Target in Gainesville, Va., the woman was carjacked and then abducted by a man with a gun. The whole thing was witnessed by a quick-thinking passer-by.
Investigators said the good Samaritan called 911 and then tailed the stolen car -- guiding police to its position.
The carjacker led police on a lengthy chase that ended up in Prince George's County. The gunman lost control of the vehicle and slammed into several cars at the intersection of St. Barnabas Road and Virginia Lane.
Several people involved in the pileup received minor injuries.
A Virginia State trooper hurt his hands as he tried to scale a chain link fence and catch the running gunman. The carjacker, however, got away.
