University of Maryland Students Struck by BB Gun Pellets; Police Search for Suspect

University of Maryland police are searching for someone who shot a BB gun at two students on campus.

A student told campus police about 7:30 p.m. Sunday that he was on Paint Branch Drive between the Kim Engineering and Biomolecular Science buildings when he was struck by what he thought was a BB pellet.

About an hour later, another student report to police he was walking on the sidewalk on Stadium Drive between a garage and Ellicott Hall, when he was struck by a BB pellet.

The suspect was inside a dark-colored vehicle, police said.

No injuries were reported.

Campus police said anyone who feels unsafe walking on or near campus can call (301) 405-3555 for an escort.
