Howard County officials said a walkout by trash hauling contractors has affected curbside collections in Howard and Montgomery counties.
In an email from the Howard County Public Works, officials said some residents may experience late or missed collections. The county and the contractor made arrangements with other companies to provide service, but expect the walk out to last into the near future.
Trash and food scrap collections are being prioritized. Regular recycling may be missed, and if it is, residents are asked to hold it until the following week.
Officials said some trucks may be running late to some areas of the county.
