SUV Crashes Into House

Residents in Aspen Hill got a rude awakening early Tuesday morning - an SUV drove through a wall into their house.

The accident happened on Parkland Drive and Aspen Hill Road.

Authorities said that the SUV had been traveling along Aspen Hill Road when it bounced off of two parked cars, drove through a chain linked fence, crossed the front yard and then hit the house.

One of the house's residents was in the room where the car came through the wall, but did not sustain serious injuries.

"I opened the door to my bedroom," said Keith Avery, "and there was an SUV in my dining room."

Wood supports were in place to buttress a portion of the roof where the vehicle came through, and the family will not be able to stay in the building until repairs are made.

Police told News4 the driver was a 22-year-old female who was intoxicated.  She has been charged with driving under the influence.
