Police have identified a woman who died after being hit by a Prince George's County bus and dragged about 30 feet while pinned underneath it.

Authorities were called to Main and Water streets in Upper Marlboro around 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Patsy Stokes Burton, who worked in the area, was crossing the street when she was struck by a county transportation bus, also known as "The Bus." Burton, 69, died at the scene.

Surveillance video shows the woman walking on a crosswalk, but officials have not yet determined whether she was crossing against the stoplight.

Prince George's County Police are investigating the accident.

Mark Brady, spokesperson for Prince George's County Fire and Emergency, said officials will look at videos from the area's stores for more details on the case.
