Two Shot, One Fatally, Just Blocks Away From Each Other Thursday in NW D.C.

D.C. police are investigating two shootings -- one fatal -- just blocks apart in Northwest D.C. Thursday.

Police said a man was found conscious and breathing after he was shot Thursday around 2 p.m. in the 5300 block of 4th Street NW.

About 12 hours earlier, police responded to sounds of gunshots at the intersection of 8th Street NW and Jefferson Street NW.

Police said they found 20-year-old Christopher Adams of Northwest dead in a vehicle; police said he suffered gunshot wounds.

The neighborhood has seen violence like this before in recent months. On Dec. 23, police found a 21-year-old man shot to death in the 900 block of Delafield Place NW, the same day as two other shootings in the same area.
