An 81-year-old Maryland man is accused of hitting another person in the face with his cane.
Lewis Harold Murphy struck the victim during an argument over alcohol, authorities said.
The victim called authorities to Murphy's home on Chapman Drive in Lexington Park on Saturday, where a St. Mary's County deputy said there was evidence of a fresh injury on the victim.
Murphy was arrested and taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He is charged with second-degree assault.
