Fireworks Blamed for Loudoun Co. Townhouse Fire

Loudoun County fire crews were able to knock down a 2-alarm fire at a townhouse in Stoneridge, Virginia, Saturday night.

Officials said they responded to Sodalite Square and found the townhouse on fire. Residents were able to escape the blaze. One firefighter was injured but did not require a trip to the hospital.

Investigators said the cause of the fire was determined to be improperly disposed fireworks. The fireworks were not properly extinguished and placed in the garage.

The three occupants of the townhouse and some residents in adjancent homes were displaced and assisted by the American Red Cross.
