A Decade Later, Potomac Teen Solomon King's Fatal Hit-And-Run Remains Unsolved

Though years have passed, the pain is still very raw for Mieko King, who lost her only son to a hit-and-run accident. The driver has yet to be caught.

Solomon King was walking with a couple friends on the 14000 block of Travilah Road near his house in Potomac, Maryland in November 2004 when he was struck by driver who fled the scene.

"It's like a dream," Mieko King said. "But he's not with me anymore. I lost my hope to live because he was everything."

Montgomery County Police haven't stopped searching for the hit-and-run driver. In fact, they got two new tips this year.

"We've investigated them to our fullest and unfortunately, there was no evidentiary value," Nicole Gamard with Montgomery County Police said.

As the 10th year of her son's passing came and went, Mieko King brought friends and family together at her Potomac home and cooked all of Solomon's favorite dishes.

Solomon's former school, Thomas Sprigg Wootton High School, has dedicated a memorial garden to pay tribute to the teen.

"I want people to remember him," Mieko King said.

If you have any tips about what happened that night in 2004, call police.
