2 Killed, 1 Hurt in Gaithersburg Crash

Two men were killed and a third was hurt when their SUV hit a tree in Gaithersburg, according to Montgomery County police.

An SUV driven by 32-year-old Thomas Christopher Collier of Gaithersburg was traveling south on Woodfield Road when it crossed into the northbound lanes, left the road and hit a tree about 4:30 a.m. Sunday, police said.

Collier and 26-year-old Daniel Lee Byron of Gaithersburg were pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Kobi Assaraf, 26, of Rockville was taken to a local hospital with injuries from which he is expected to recover.
