Wounded Warriors' New Home

A new state-of-the-art facility was unveiled Thursday in Bethesda, Md., for military men and women wounded on the front lines.

A ribbon cutting was held for the Wounded Warrior barracks and Warrior Support Complex. The barracks are housed at the National Naval Medical Center on Wisconsin Avenue.

The 2005 Base Closure and Realignment directed the transition of patients, staff and clinical functions at Walter Reed Army Medical Center to the new facility in Bethesda.

The Wounded Warrior barracks is fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.  Army officials said it will provide the highest quality support services to all wounded warriors at the future Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda.
