D.C. Restaurant Week Kicks Off

More than 200 restaurants offering prix-fixe lunches and dinners

D.C. Restaurant Week's summer edition is back!

More than 200 restaurants are offering prix-fixe three-course lunches and dinners at a discount starting Monday.

The special deals (lunch for $20.14; dinner for $35.14) are available at least through Aug. 17, with many restaurants offering deals beyond that.

The Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) organizes the annual event, which encourages both locals and tourists to try eating at new places throughout the city. It's a good idea to book your table in advance to make sure you get a spot; the RAMW site lists menus and links out to the OpenTable.com reservation site.

Popular names such as Rasika, Jaleo and El Centro D.F. are all participating, but a full list is available here.

Several of the participating restaurants were also recipients of 2014 RAMMY Awards, which celebrate the best food in the region across several categories.

The winners were announced in June and some of those who are participating in D.C. Restaurant Week 2014 are Fiola, which won Best Fine Dining; Birch and Barley, which won Best Beer Program; and 2941 Restaurant, whose chef Caitlin Dysart won Best Pastry Chef.
