Blossoms Without Crowds: Alternative Viewing Spots

As thousands of people flock to the Tidal Basin to see the blossoms in peak bloom, consider one of these alternative locations for an uninterrupted view.

About The Festival
In 1912, the mayor of Tokyo gave 3,000 cherry trees to Washington, D.C. The gift honored the lasting friendship between the U.S. and Japan. One hundred years later, the trees and their blossoms entice thousands of people to gather at the Tidal Basin to celebrate their beauty and sense of goodwill.
