The "Idol" judges looked more stunned than ruthless when they watched a 16-year-old contestant fall off the stage in Hollywood on Wednesday.
We're used to will-she-make-it-or-won't-she medical cliffhangers on TV dramas — but on "Idol"...?
"American Idol" ended just that way Wednesday night, its first this season in Hollywood, when a 16-year-old with serious "Idol" prospects took a nasty fall from the stage.
Symone Black had just finished performing "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay" for the pleased judges panel when she stepped sideways and off of the stage.
She appeared to land badly. "She hit her head," said a stunned Steven Tyler, while Symone's dad and "Idol" crew members immediately rushed to her aid and called for a medic.
While the "Idol" crew tended to Symone, the credits rolled at the end of the show.
Here's hoping she wasn't seriously injured and is back on her feet singing soon.
