Justin Bieber's Hair Fetches $40k in Charity Auction

Bieber's locks are a serious investment.

Talk about an expensive hairdo.

Teen pop star Justin Bieber, known for his trademark shaggy locks, saw his hair clippings sell for a whopping $40,668 in a charity auction hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, reports the New York Daily News.

The eBay sale came a week after the Canadian heartthrob, sporting his much talked about shorter 'do, appeared on "Ellen" and presented the talk show host with the leftover hair from his cut. He also singed the box that held the hair trimmings.

DeGeneres said that all proceeds from the auction would go to the Gentle Barn Foundation, an animal rescue organization in California.

The reported winner was GoldenPalace.com, an online casino known for outlandish promotions, such as paying boxers to wear temporary tattoos of its logo on their bodies during fights.

In a statememt, Golden Palace said they plan to put the hair on tour at Bieber concerts in an effort to raise even more money for charity.
