Leonardo DiCaprio Attacker Receives Two-Year Prison Sentence

A woman accused of cutting Leonardo DiCaprio's face with broken glass at a party five years ago has received a two-year prison sentence, reports ABC.

Aretha Wilson, 40, was given credit for the almost one year of time she spent in jail and if she receives time off for good behavior, she may only serve six more months, said her attorney Freddy Sayegh in a statement to the press outside the L.A. courtroom where she was sentenced.

In November, Wilson, who is a Canadian citizen, pleaded guilty to assault with a deadly weapon in the June 17, 2005, attack against the Inception star.

According to a witness account, Wilson was involved in a verbal altercation with one of DiCaprio's friends at a party in the Hollywood Hills when she picked up a wine glass and struck the actor, opening a wound near between his neck and ears that required 17 stitches to close.

After serving her remaining time in the United States, she will be deported to Canada.
