Gilbert Arenas Says Bradley Beal ‘Almost Ruined My Bday' After 60-Point Performance

Arenas says Beal 'almost ruined my bday' with 60-point game originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

In the Washington Wizards' 141-136 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers Wednesday night, Bradley Beal exploded for 60 points to tie Gilbert Arenas for the most points scored in a single game in franchise history. Ironically, Wednesday also marked Arenas' 39th birthday, and according to Arenas, Beal was on the verge of ruining his special day.

"@bradbeal3 boy ya had me scared 😂😂 almost ruined my bday 😂😂🤣" Arenas said on Instagram, relieved Beal fell just short of eclipsing his mark.

Arenas' 60-point performance came against the late Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers on  December 17, 2006. Washington won 147-141 in Staples Center with Arenas overshadowing a vintage 45-point Kobe performance.

Beal responded to Arenas in the comments section, saying "Happy Birthday 🐐"

Don't get too comfortable, Gil. Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard CJ McCollum challenged Beal to get 70 points after the 60-point performance; what better time for that to happen than against his best friend Jayson Tatum, and the Boston Celtics, Friday.

Tune in at 6:30 PM to NBC Sports Washington on Friday for complete coverage of the Wizards' against the Boston Celtics.
