Local celebrity Chef Morou, who has become the face of Alexandria tourism, will be taking his cooking to Crystal City. Effective April 29, Morou’s new landloard wants him gone. Localkicks.com reports:
Balducci's owns the lease on the space occupied by Farrah Olivia, and does not plan to close its Old Town location, a corporate announcement said. On April 17, the gourmet specialty food retailer was sold to a New York investor group led by the chairman of Kings Super Markets.
Morou, like his cooking, seems quite Zen-like about the whole affair. Trying to keep it all in perspective he told localkicks.com :
“The restaurant business goes up and down," he said. "Nothing surprises me anymore.”
The Crystal City location will be an Italian-style restaurant. If you hurry, though, you can still get a great prix fix meal at Farrah Olivia 'til April 29.
