An 84-year-old Virginia man accused of making moonshine has received a suspended sentence.
Franklin County Judge William Alexander suspended Cecil Love's sentence Monday on the condition that Love behave for two years.
The Roanoke Times reports that Love pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of possession of distilling apparatus without a permit.
Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Patrick Nix says Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control agents found Love stirring a pot of corn mash with a wooden stick in a dried creekbed in June. Other distilling equipment was found.
Nix says Love admitted at the time he was planning to make liquor and had been selling it to friends and family.
