Though Rio will be Carmen Farmer's first Olympics, it will not be her first time playing rugby on the international stage.
A Richmond, Virginia, native in the lock position, Farmer was a part of the team that finished seventh in the Women's Rugby World Cup in 2014. Her preformance in that series set Farmer up to join the Sevens program at the Olympic Training Center and eventially earn her spot on Team USA.
The Virginia Tech graduate already has a silver medal from the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games. Now, she has the chance to win another medal.
