The 141st edition of the US Open Tennis Championships is just around the corner.
The hardcourt tennis tournament begins on Monday, August 30, and ends on Sunday, September 12. The 2020 edition was played without fans due to COVID-19. Even as the pandemic rages on, many sports venues around the United States have returned to full capacity. That includes the US Open, which is allowing 100 percent fan capacity for the 2021 edition.

Players will compete in the Grand Slam event for a winning prize of over $3 million for both the men's and women's tournament. The runner-up will receive $1.5 million. Advancing to the Round of 32 earns a player $163,000, while players that make the Round of 64 will earn $100,000.

When is the 2021 US Open?
The 2021 US Open begins on Monday, Aug. 30, and concludes on Sunday, Sept. 12.
The first round of the main draw begins at 11 a.m. on Aug. 30. The second round begins on Wednesday, Sept. 1, while the third round begins on Friday, Sept. 3.
The quarterfinal round of the 2021 US Open begins on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 11 a.m. The women's semi-final will take place on Thursday, Sept. 9, at 7 p.m. The men's semi-final will be held at the same time the following day, Friday, Sept. 8.
The women's US Open final will take place on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 4 p.m. The men's US Open final will begin on Sunday, Sept. 12, at 4 p.m. as well.
