Westbrook gets most votes for any guard left off All-NBA teams originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
With Bradley Beal, the Wizards got one player on the 2020-21 All-NBA team, but they nearly had two.
Russell Westbrook finished with the most votes of any guard left off the list. Only Jayson Tatum of the Celtics had more votes among those who didn't make it.

Beal got in as a member of the third team along with Kyrie Irving of the Nets. The other guards to get the honor were Stephen Curry (Warriors) and Luka Doncic (Mavericks) on the first team, plus Chris Paul (Suns) and Damian Lillard (Trail Blazers) on the second team.
Beal is the first Wizards player to make All-NBA since John Wall got the nod in 2016-17. Meanwhile, Westbrook made it three straight years where a Wizards player led voting among guards who missed the All-NBA cut. Beal was in that position each of the last two seasons before finally getting in.
Westbrook, though, has been All-NBA nine times before, including last season when he played for the Rockets. This season he averaged 22.2 points, 11.7 assists and 11.5 rebounds. He led the NBA in assists and set career-highs in both assists and rebounds.
Westbrook also led the NBA in triple-doubles with 38 and along the way set the all-time record for triple-doubles in a career. He passed Oscar Robertson on May 10 to break a record that had stood for 47 years.
Beal and Westbrook helped lead the Wizards to the eight-seed in the East and their first playoff berth in three years. It was enough to get one All-NBA nod, but apparently not enough to get them two.
