Ravens Cornerback Marlon Humphrey Says He'll Stay With No. 44

Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey won't be changing his number anytime soon.

After the Ravens released Earl Thomas on Sunday, who wore No. 29, it opened up a spot on the roster for Humphrey, now No. 44, to take his old number back. He put any debate to rest on Monday night.

Humphrey chose No. 44 last year to honor his dad, a former running back.

"My dad wore the number 44 in high school and his last year in the NFL," Humphrey said at the time. "When I had to find a new number, it was one of the first that came to mind."

Once Earl Thomas signed with the team, Humphrey gave up No. 29 easily.

For now, the Ravens don't have a No. 29 on the roster. No. 44, however, was a good number to Humphrey, who had the best season of his career in 2019.
