CAPITALS VS. ISLANDERS PLAYERS TO WATCH

Capitals: Alex Ovechkin (72 games, 42 goals, 32 assists): Alex Ovechkin has remained one of the NHL's elite goal scorers, as he continues to lead the way for the Capitals. Ovi missed the last game due to an upper-body injury and it's possible with the Capitals eliminated from playoff contention that the team could continue to rest him. If the Capitals want to see their six-game losing streak come to an end they will really need their top goal scorer out on the ice.

Islanders: Brock Nelson, C (79 games, 33 goals, 39 assists): The Islanders' team leader in goals and points once again, Brock Nelson has had another career year for New York. With the center signed through 2024-25, New York has to be thrilled with his numbers this year. The Capitals' defense will have to keep close tabs on the 6'4 center.
