Former Hoya Mac McClung Hits Game-Winner for Texas Tech to Knock of Texas

Former Hoya Mac McClung hits pull-up game-winner for Texas Tech originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Mac McClung's college career has been filled with him delivering in big moments. That hasn't changed when the young dunking sensation took his talents to Texas Tech.

Playing in a Top 25 matchup with his Red Raiders traveling to Texas, McClung walked up the court to deliver the game-winning basket in the final seconds.

Taking his defender in an isolation, the former Georgetown Hoya pulled up to hit a long two-point shot. The go-ahead basket would be enough for Texas Tech to get their best win on the season over No. 4 Texas on the road.

After the game, McClung was so excited that he left in the middle of the postgame interview.

The basket part of his game-high 22 points on 6-for-14 shooting. On the year, McClung is averaging 15.3 points per game, right on pace with what he did in his final season on the Hilltop.

McClung transferred from the Hoyas program after an apparent rift that was created between him and head coach Patrick Ewing during the NBA Draft evaluation process. Ewing spoiled the news that McClung was returning to school and not too long after McClung announced his intent to transfer.
